Common questions

Our data is messy and spread across systems. Is that a problem?

That is the normal starting position and largely the job. Most of the work in analytics is not the dashboard, it is reconciling systems that disagree about what a customer is or when a month ends. We start by mapping the sources and the contradictions between them, because a dashboard built on unreconciled data produces confident wrong answers, which is worse than no dashboard.

Do we have to replace our existing BI tool?

No. Power BI, Looker, Metabase and Tableau all work fine on a well-modelled warehouse, and the warehouse is where the value is. If your team already knows a tool, keeping it is usually the right call. We would only recommend changing if the current tool is genuinely blocking something you need.

How long before we see something useful?

A first working dashboard on one reconciled source typically takes three to four weeks. The full pipeline takes longer, and we sequence deliberately so you get a decision-useful view early rather than waiting for everything. If someone promises a complete analytics platform in a month, ask which sources they are skipping.

Who maintains it once it is built?

Pipelines break when upstream systems change, which they will, so someone has to own that. We build with monitoring and alerting so a failure is visible rather than silent - the dangerous case is a pipeline that quietly stops updating while the dashboard keeps showing last week's numbers. You can run it in-house with the documentation we provide, or we can hold it on a retainer.
