Common questions

How do you estimate a project you have not built before?

We do not give a number off a one-page brief, because that number is always wrong. A short paid discovery - usually one to two weeks - produces the architecture, the integration list, the risks and a range rather than a single figure. If the range is too wide to be useful, that itself is the finding: it means the requirements are not settled yet, and building against unsettled requirements is how projects double.

What happens when requirements change halfway through?

They will, so the contract should expect it. Under time and materials, changes are absorbed by reprioritising the backlog and you see the trade-off before it is made. Under fixed price, a change is a written change request with its own estimate, which is slower but keeps the price meaningful. We will tell you which model suits your project rather than defaulting to whichever is better for us.

Will we be dependent on you after launch?

You own the source code, the documentation and the infrastructure configuration outright, and we hand over repositories and deployment access whenever you ask. We also write the runbook your own engineers need to operate it, and we will walk a new team through the codebase if you move on. A vendor who keeps you dependent is protecting their revenue, not your product.

Are the people in the pitch the people who build it?

Yes. We are a small team, so the engineers you meet are the engineers who write the code - there is no separate sales bench. The practical limit is capacity: if we cannot staff your project properly within your timeline, we will say so rather than take it and stretch.
